Black skirt
- Perfect for a "night-on-the-town" a black skirt looks elegant with a
dressy blouse, high heels and your favorite gems. A knee-length a-line
or pencil skirt style is the most pleasing look.
Pant suit or skirt
suit - A suit is great for easy mixing
and matching and multi-purpose for any occasion (wedding, funeral).
Neutrals such as black, navy, brown or khaki are best in year round
fabrications. A three piece suit (jacket, pants, skirt) will give you
the most bang for your buck.
Blue jeans
- If you haven't replaced your jeans lately, now is the time to do so.
The width of the pant leg and the hips should be in proportion, a boot
cut style is more flattering than tapered legs. Short-waisted women
will appear elongated in a low-waist style. Fabrics combined with
stretch fibers offer greater comfort.
White woven shirt
- A basic white shirt works equally well with a suit or pants. With
wrinkle-resistant styles such as Eddie Bauer pinpoint oxford shirts
(Eddie Bauer), you can bid good-bye to ironing.

Twin sweater set
- A cardigan with matching shell (short sleeve or
sleeveless) is multi-faceted because it can be used in a
variety of combinations and seasons. The cardigan serves as
a cover-up on chilly nights or in an air-conditioned
room. The shell is perfect
under a suit jacket. Together or separate, they work
well with other items in the wardrobe. Silk, cotton or
rayon blends are best year round fabrics. Neutral
colors stretch a wardrobe but fun seasonal colors add
pizzazz.
T-shirts or shells
- Quality t-shirts (without graphics or sports motif) look
refined in soft cotton jersey knit or cotton/spandex blends
(Gap). Short
sleeve styles are the best choice in whatever neckline is
most flattering to your face shape. An assortment of
neutrals, such as white, ivory or black are essential.
Add on seasonal colors which can stand alone with khaki

Dressy blouse -
One sensational blouse can enhance your black skirt for any
special occasion. Pair with black pumps and
elegant jewelry.
Fashionable footwear - A good selection or shoes
such as loafers and flats can work with khakis, jeans or
Capri pants. A current pair of basic black pumps or
sling-backs complements a suit, pants or a dress.
Sneakers are necessary for work-out wear or around the
house. Leather is a better investment to wear year
round versus seasonal fabrics such as suede or linen.
Much needed accessories
- If a bottom has belt loops, and the shirt gets tucked in -
it needs a belt. Jeans and casual pants use a belt
that is approximately 1½" wide. Dress pants and skirts
usually require a 1" belt.
